SLAC coil feeding shell system is built on a Minster or Bruderer press. It can run at high speed stably and is easy to maintain.
The feeding rollers are dual servo drives or mechanical drive, which will not cause indentation on the surface of the coil when the shell system is fed at constant high speed. The shell tooling has an air pressure forming structure so that the shell specs can stay consistent. Additionally, the tooling parts have a long service life and are also easy to replace. The shells come out along the air drain into the Curler. The air drain structure makes the shells go into Curler at high speed with good stability. The Curler is vertical and each Curler is driven by one motor independently, which makes it convenient to maintain and adjust the Curler. The curler section is compact and occupies minimal floor space.
SLAC can design customized coil feeding shell systems and can upgrade the system design at the customer’s request with the best. Doing so will not compromise the system stability and reliability.
